Bernadette Pasley began a beauty and fashion blog in 2006 before starting her baseball blog, Lady At The Bat, in 2007. After joining the fashion blog community Coutorture, she realized that a similar community for baseball bloggers did not exist.  There were plenty of blog directories and ad networks for baseball bloggers to join, but a place where baseball bloggers could network, develop relationships and help each other to become better at what they do was unheard of. Out Of Write Field was established to help fill that void. It is part of Backdoor Slider Media, Inc., the online publishing company Bernadette created in 2007.
